Oberon Council has received a welcome funding boost towards its ongoing playground upgrade program, thanks to the support of the Veolia Mulwaree Trust.
Deputy Mayor Katie Graham and Corporate Services Director Mathew Webb, recently attended a funding presentation hosted by the Trust, where they accepted a grant of $43,580 on behalf of Council. The funding will contribute to the Oberon Playground Safety Upgrade project, helping to deliver safer, more accessible play spaces across the local government area.
Council sincerely thanks the Veolia Mulwaree Trust for its generous support and ongoing commitment to regional communities. This contribution recognises the important role playgrounds play in supporting active lifestyles, child development and social connection.
The funding will assist Council to continue delivering its staged playground upgrade program. Through Phase 1 and Phase 2 works, Council is progressively upgrading and replacing equipment that no longer meets current safety and compliance standards, with priority given to high-use locations.
This latest funding will support upgrades at The Common, Oberon’s largest and most visited playground. Planned works include new and upgraded play equipment, improved safety surfacing, and enhancements to overall functionality.
Council continues to work towards securing the remaining funding required to complete the broader upgrade program, actively pursuing grant opportunities and assessing additional capital allocations to keep these projects moving.
Oberon Council looks forward to delivering these improvements and will continue to keep the community informed as works progress.
