Christine Bailey

Join local author Christine Bailey for the launch of her book

The Purple Copper’s Secret.

A book with something for all ages exploring a beautiful local species of butterfly.

Christine consulted with Senior Local Land Services Officer Allan Wray, and local biologist/ecologist Ray Mjadwesch about their work monitoring and recording the butterfly, and their work on protection and habitat restoration measures.

Biodiversity is so important to our existence. Hear how volunteers can help the butterfly survive and thrive.

Two photographic displays, one of the life cycle of this butterfly, courtesy of Ray Mjadwesch, the other of more common species of the region, courtesy of Alan Hyman, will be viewable.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase (cash or bank transfer), with all proceeds from sales to go to local conservation efforts.
