Update from the Mayor Kathy Sajowitz - 17 February 2016

Nectar Farms hosted the launch of the Oberon Greenhouse Project last week.  The next stage is the public consultation process facilitated by Nectar Farms and lodgement of the DA. I have been advised by the management team that there has already been a great response on the website in the form of expressions of interest for employment and contracting.

Congratulations to Dominica Koudrin who won the Oberon Showgirl Competition this year, I am certain that with five gorgeous young women entered, judging must have been very difficult for the committee. The Oberon Show is on this Saturday, the committee has kindly invited me to open this year’s event and I am looking forward to doing so. I cannot believe how much is happening at the show this year including the popular “Ute Muster” Country Shows play a huge part in the community identity, please come along.

Also on Saturday is the launch of the Central West Lifestyle Magazine autumn edition hosted at Mayfield Gardens. Oberon Council along with OBTA has sponsored a stunning 45 page feature in the magazine promoting the LGA. I am certain this will enhance the tourism opportunities for the area.

The annual Heritage Steam & Vintage Fair was held last Saturday, great weather, good crowds and the street parade was huge this year. I would like to thank the Oberon Heritage & Collectors Club for their hard work ensuring this event happens each year. the OTHR also had a successful 10th  birthday weekend  A great event for Oberon which attracted many tourists.
