Member for Bathurst Paul Toole was in Oberon today Friday 23 March, to announce a total of $1,095,000 of funding from Round 1 of the State Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF) for six community and sporting projects in the Oberon Local Government Area.
These Council Projects include:
• Oberon Skate Park and Youth Precinct - $500,000
• Footpaths to Fitness - $ 150,000
• Covered Grandstands at the Oberon Recreation Ground - $ 130,000
• Village Playgrounds - $100,000
• BBQs on the Fish - $105,000
The Oberon Golf Club was also included in this program for an infrastructure upgrade of $110,000.
This is exciting news for the Oberon Community. The SCCF Round 1 funding aims to provide the kind of infrastructure that improves the lives of local residents and enhances the liveability of our towns and villages.
Round 2 of the SCCF is now open and local sporting and community groups are reminded that they have until Friday 13 April 2018 to submit Expressions of Interest to Council for projects with a minimum value of $50,000. The Round 2 allocation for Oberon LG Area is $1,230,618.
