ROAD CONDITION UPDATE

3 AUGUST 2016 – 12.00 midday

Low level crossings within the Oberon Local Government area are currently passable, with care. Motorists are advised to check the crossing level indicators carefully. Do not enter or cross floodwater.

The Abercrombie Rd at the Abercrombie River was inspected by Council early this morning and was passable at that time. The level of the Abercrombie River can be monitored on the Bureau of Meteorology website www.bom.gov.au/nsw/flood/centralwest.shtml or on the Water Ways Guide website at http://www.waterwaysguide.org.au/river-levels .

Thankyou to the community and road users who have reported trees on roads. Council crews are out and about working to clear roads however road users are advised to drive with care being mindful that the rain and snow has resulted in trees, tree branches and debris on roads.

Edith Rd from Oberon to Kanangra Walls Rd is open. Note that Edith Rd beyond Kanangra Walls Rd is under the control of Roads and Maritime (RMS). Motorists who wish to use this route to Jenolan Caves are advised to check with RMS.

Council crews are working this morning to clear trees and debris from roads. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution and drive to the conditions they encounter.
