Due to the recent rainfall some river crossings are experiencing flooding.
The Following Roads have been closed:
Hazlegrove Road
Sewells Creek Road at Native Dog and Brisbane Valley Creek
Beaconsfield Road at Brisbane Valley Creek and Captain King Creek
Foleys Creek at the Creek
Mutton Falls Road between Lowes Mount Road and O'Connell Road.
Pre polling for the upcoming December 4 Local Government elections is now well underway at the Oberon Showground and will continue until Friday 3 December. I urge all residents to think carefully about who they vote for to represent the community for the next two years nine months.
After the Oberon Dam level being as low as 33% this time last year, it overflowed spectacularly over the weekend. The last time the dam spilled was in 2016. WaterNSW has estimated that around 1000ml per day will flow across the dam every day for the next week or so, this will of course impact the Macquarie River catchment which is mostly in the Bathurst Local Government Area and may cause some localised flooding issues downstream.
