LATEST NEWS FROM MAYOR MARK KELLAM - 13 JANUARY 2022

Our new council is in place after a meeting of the elected Councillors was held on 30 December.  At that meeting all Councillors were sworn in and Clr Mark Kellam was elected Mayor and Clr Andrew McKibbin was elected as Deputy Mayor.

MAYORAL ELECTION

At its 30 December 2021 Ordinary Meeting, Council held its election of Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
 
Councillor Mark Kellam was elected unopposed to the position of Mayor.
Councillor Andrew McKibbin was elected to the position of Deputy Mayor.

Sadly for me this will be the last column I write in my role as Mayor. It has been a privilege to serve the community for the past nine years, I have enjoyed it immensely and I walk away feeling comfortable that I did the very best job I could. I hope I have made a difference – but that will be for others to judge.

Oberon Community Christmas Carol Event will be held at Apex Park this coming Friday December 10 commencing 6pm – 8pm. This will be a COVID Safe Event in line with NSW Heath Orders which means you will need to be double vaxxed to attend and must QR Code into                                                 the venue.

⚠ HALF ROAD CLOSURE – EMU VALLEY CREEK, HAZELGROVE ROAD ⚠

Please be advised that due to substantial catchment run-off, the roadway over a piped culvert causeway at Emu Valley Creek on the Hazelgrove Road has experienced structural damage.
This has resulted in a half road closure.
 
Repairs will be undertaken once water subsides and the area has been deemed safe for works to commence.

Sunday 28 November 2021
Due to the recent rainfall some river crossings are experiencing flooding.
 
Nunans Hill Road is closed at Fish River.
Hazelgrove Road has been opened at Fish River.
 
Motorists are advised to please drive to the conditions they encounter and do not enter flood waters.
