The restoration work and additions to the ablutions block at the Oberon Sports Ground is nearing completion.
The existing toilet facilities at Cunynghame Oval have been upgraded and improved, along with the installation of a new unisex disabled access toilet which has not previously been available.
All internal and external work to the amenities has now been carried out, with just some minor landscaping work still to be completed. The facilities have new paths to provide disabled access to the amenities from the sealed road surface; a wet weather club/storage room with viewing access to the netball courts; along with the installation of a light over the netball courts which will greatly enhance the facilities.
This work has been made possible with funding assistance from the NSW Government under the Community Building Partnership Program, along with funding contributions from Council.
The upgraded facilities will be of great benefit to all users of the Oberon Sports Ground including netball, hockey, rugby league as well as tourism events and visitors to the Highland Steam and Vintage Fair.
