Recycling Centre and Waste Depot Update - Thursday 1 September 2016

The Oberon community is congratulated on its continued use of the Recycling Centre on North Street, Oberon. As a result of this ongoing trial, Council have now placed two additional bins for recycling materials only at the centre.

Please be advised that the recycling bins are NOT for domestic rubbish. Please ensure that you put your recycling into the bins provided and if they are in bags or boxes please empty out and place those items in the correct bins.

Please don’t sit your recycling on the ground as this causes items to be blown away.

If the bins are full you can still recycle at the Oberon tip free of charge between the hours of 8am - 10am and 3pm - 5pm weekdays and 1pm - 5pm on weekends.

All rate payers should by now have received four tip vouchers with their rates assessment. Anyone who hasn’t received either their rates notice or their tip vouchers are encouraged to contact Council on 02 6329 8100 or call into the Administration Centre.

We have had a number of enquiries regarding the use of tip vouchers for the disposal of tyres. Please note the Oberon Tip can only accept tyres which have been shredded or cut into 30cm pieces. If the tyres have not been shredded or cut up as required they cannot be accepted at the tip either in general waste or through the use of tip vouchers.
