Oberon Youth Council - Fun Run

It was a cold, windy Oberon morning on Saturday 21 March for the Oberon Youth Council Inaugural Community Fun Run. We had 46 participants register on the day and everyone appeared to have a good time. The races were started by the Oberon Mayor, John McMahon, and Oberon Youth Mayor, Adrian Williams at 9am sharp. First across the line for the 5km run was Danny Eiler-Carr in 20 minutes, with Geoff Lynch crossing the 10km line in 40 minutes. We also put on a Treasure Hunt and Sack Races for the little ones at The Common. There will be a full report with photos and times achieved by all runners/walkers in next week’s Oberon Review.

A special thank you to the OYC members (Lydia, Keeley, Lisa, Lucy), the Oberon Council OYC Working Party and the volunteers for helping to make this event the success it was. We hope that the Community Fun Run will be a bigger event in 2016 and that the whole Oberon Youth Council get behind it (remember the City to Surf started small).
