Oberon Council Swimming Pool News - 19 January 2017

You may have seen the alarming statistics in recent media reports about the number of drowning incidents that have occurred during the summer period. The risks associated to drowning can be reduced, particularly for those under the age of five, by providing children with valuable swimming skills for life and by following the keep watch actions. These include close, constant and focused supervision; restricting the child’s access to water; water awareness (water familiarization lessons, setting rules and water education); and ensuring you have up to date resuscitation skills.

Did you know that the Oberon Pool Staff can provide invaluable training in resuscitation at the Oberon Swimming Pool?  If you or your family are interested please contact the pool.

Dolphin Swim School Programs also cater for all ages and the Oberon Pool Complex has a Holiday Fun Squad session Monday, Wednesday & Fridays from 5.30pm.

Other programs available at the pool to improve your skills, fitness and water confidence include:

  • H2o Xercise Sessions are held Tuesday, Wednesday & Fridays 7am.
