FUNDING LIBRARY CAMPAIGN POSTCARDS

Oberon Council funds 93% of the cost to operate the Oberon Library. The State contribution has declined from 23.6% in 1980 to just 7%. During February, the Oberon Library will provide postcards that you can send to our local NSW Member of Parliament.  You are invited to write a message of support for libraries and express your concern about the declining State funding. The Library will collect all completed postcards and mail them in bulk to our local member.

LIBRARY LOVERS’ DAY

On Friday 13 February at 5pm there will be a launch of SIMMER, BAKE, BOIL with a cooking demonstration by local chefs. Rescue a recipe from the Oberon Library shelves, cook the item and bring to the library with a photocopy of the recipe for a sumptuous judging and afternoon tea on February 27 at 5pm. Get your friends involved – sweet or savoury – junior or senior – we want you to cook up a storm! Contact Library staff on 6329 8220 for more information.
