Water Main Replacement Work Springfield Street
Notification of Reduced Water Pressure

Council advises that works have recently been undertaken to replace an existing section of 250mm fibro water main in the vicinity of Springfield Street, Oberon. As part of ongoing works to replace sections Councils aging water main infrastructure, the first stage will see the replacement of 300 metres of new PVC water main.
Staff are nearing completion and will require to connect the new section of main to the existing line. During this time reduced water pressure will be experienced and may affect both residential and commercial business on the west side of Oberon due to the size of the water main and volumes carried.
The water connection for the new line will take place on Thursday 24 August from 9am and is expected to be complete by 4pm. Subject to favourable weather and no technical difficulties. Should the weather be inclement the work will be programmed for the next day weather prevailing.
For ease of stress to the water reticulation system, Council requests that persons limit their water consumption during these hours and apologies in advance for any inconvenience caused. Council staff will do there upmost to limit the time taken for the new connections which is unavoidable.
