An enjoyable afternoon was had by all who went along to the Accidental Ensemble performance “Baby Its Cold Outside” last weekend. Funds raised at the event were donated to both the Tarana Red Cross and the Oberon Writers Group so a double benefit. Congratulations also to The Oberon Tigers who through their Can Assist Round last Sunday raised approx.
My thanks go to our amazing council works staff that went above and beyond to ensure the safety of residents and visitors through the major snow event last weekend. Out all weekend from early morning to late at night in very tough conditions assessing and clearing the roads, then relaying that information for regular distribution via social media by Technical Services Staff.
Western NSW Primary Health Network and Oberon Council collaborate to produce first health snapshot.
The Oberon Local Government Area Health Snapshot was launched on Wednesday 24 July. The Health Snapshot provides details on the health status of those living in the Oberon Local Government Area as well as available healthcare and community services.
“My Community Project” is a new funding initiative by the State Government aimed at improving the wellbeing of people and communities in NSW. Each electorate in the state has been allocated approximately $260,000 in this round of the program.
Oberon Council has partnered with Service NSW in providing the Easy to do Business program to the wider Oberon community.
Easy to do Business is a free service offered across a range of industries, providing one contact point across three levels of government which is designed to cut through the red tape and make opening or growing your business easier and faster.
The Bathurst and District Branch of the National Trust has presented their monthly heritage award for July to a joint Oberon/O'Connell project aiming to restore the region's historic buildings. The O'Connell earth building workshop coordinator Angus McKibbin and Oberon Mayor Kathy Sajowitz received their National Trust Heritage Awards from Bathurst branch chairman Iain McPherson.
