Third time lucky!! Bring your skateboard to the New Skate Park on 28th September from 10am. Blunt Side Sk8 Park Tours will be conducting demonstrations and jam sessions while providing prizes, giveaways and a BBQ lunch. The Hon. Paul Toole MP will officially open the Park at 11:30am. Surely it could not snow a third time….could it!!
At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Tuesday 17 September 2019, Clr Kathy Sajowitz was re-elected to the position of Mayor unopposed.
The position of Deputy Mayor was contested by three Councillors with Councillor Mark Kellam being elected to the position following a ballot.

Edith Rd is no longer closed due to snow or ice, and Essential Energy have advised Council that the power line issue has been attended to.
Therefore, all roads are open in the Oberon Local Government Area.

I am pleased to advise that this year the Oberon Council Local Government Golf Day will be held on Friday November 15. This hugely popular event has been running for fourteen years and is attended by our local community, local council, political and business representatives from the Central West Region.

Distribution of the 2019/20 community donation program took place last week; council supported fifty three projects to the total of $93,209.
Oberon Council partnering with YMCA
YMCA NSW (The Y) is excited to have been awarded a 12-month contract to operate the Oberon Swimming Pool and new Fitness Centre, which is under construction and planned to open in the coming months.
Albion St temporary road closure 04/09/2019 until approx. 1pm
Albion St will be closed this morning 4/9/2019 until approximately 1pm, from the intersection of O'Connell Rd and Albion St to the entrance of Gate 2 of Borg. This is to allow road repair work to take place. Detours are in place. Please refer to the attached traffic control plan. Council apologies for the short notice and any inconvenience caused.

It is an important decision to change citizenship from your country of birth to that of your adopted country, but never the less a very very rewarding one, I congratulate Laurel Hawken and Gary Peyton who supported by family and friends made that commitment in Oberon last week. Minister Paul Toole attended the ceremony as did several councillors.
