The long anticipated work to replace the Abercrombie Bridge and remediate the approaches has commenced. The joint $1.5million project will see the replacement of the fifty year old wooden bridge with a relocated concrete culvert bridge. This will greatly improve the safety of traffic using the Abercrombie Road and will better cope with any future flood events. The total project is expected to be completed by early June.

It was good to hear the announcement from our Local Member Paul Toole last week in relation to an extra Bathurst Bullet Service to commence in 2020. It was even better to hear that the Bullet Mark 2 will stop at Tarana. This is something that Oberon residents have had on their wish list for many years. Several campaigns have been undertaken to lobby various ministers, it is great to see a decision being made on the issue.

I heartily congratulate the Oberon Show Committee for the amazing event last Saturday, the weather was perfect and both the Oberon and wider community turned out in droves to enjoy what was a great day. The Show was opened by Deputy Mayor Kerry Gibbons who took us back to shows of old.
