It was sad to hear of the passing of Rosemary Harris. Although Rosemary moved away from Oberon a few years ago to be closer to family, she was heavily involved in the Oberon Community for many years through the Oberon Health Council and Hospital Auxiliary. A strong supporter of Legacy Australia and a highly regarded teacher in Early Childhood Development especially in the area of hearing impaired children.

Have your say in the development of a new brand for the Oberon Region. The new brand is a key element in the delivery of the Community Strategic Plan which will guide Oberon for the next 20 years. Council has engaged Brijid Media to develop the new brand and the following survey aims to capture your feedback and thoughts to what “Oberon means for you”.

Last week council staff, councillors and members of the community participated in the first round of workshops with Brijd media in the development of the new community brand. I personally found the process very interesting and am keen to see what results from the input.

It was busy in O’Connell last weekend. As part of the NSW Government $100,000 Heritage Near Me Grant funding stream, the first of three “earth building workshops” was attended by twenty nine participants.  Organised by The Friends of Lindlegreen in collaboration with Oberon Council, speakers Graham Lupp and Peter Hickson both renowned in their fields of expertise led the workshops.
