Oberon Council will run tours of recent works for our community for Local Government Week
This year Local Government Week is being held from 1 - 7 August and councils across NSW will celebrate by hosting a range of events or activities to showcase their day-to-day work to the community. While many people are aware that councils manage rates, roads and rubbish, the breadth and diversity of their work often goes unrecognised.
This year’s theme ‘Our Council, Our Community’ reflects that councils are closely connected to their communities, and they deliver support and services every day that are important to peoples’ lives.
Oberon Council is offering community members in the Oberon LGA tours of our recent works that have been carried out under the Local Infrastructure Renewal Scheme (LIRS) and projects utilising the funds which have been collected under the Special Rate Variation (SRV).
Bus tours will depart from the Fleming Street bus stop at 11am and 1pm on Friday 7 August 2016. A guided tour of several recent projects and information about our forward planned works will be a focus of the tour.
Bookings are essential and can be made in person at our Administration Centre, 137 Oberon Street, by phoning 6329 8100 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bookings close on Wednesday 3 August so be sure to get in quick and book your seat.
Local Government Week provides the perfect opportunity for the community to gain a better understanding of how Council operates and the variety of services we provide.
