WW1 100 Years Commemorations

The current Community Display at the Library features a wonderful presentation of poppies. The centre piece is the community created display, dedicated to all service men and women with some personal nominations to special individuals. This is supported by Inga de Witt’s poppy painting, items made by our local students and some service uniforms. Many thanks to all who contributed to make these artistic and beautiful items. The Library has a selection of books and resources dealing with this period of our history. The titles include biographies, poetry, battle accounts and descriptions of the conditions encountered by our service people and on the home front during WW1.

The April School Holiday activity program has been finalised and will offer some exciting activities. This year we have sessions catering for 5 to 18 year old students. The activities will include jewellery making, craft, waste 2 art, cooking and computer hot tips. Numbers are limited and the sessions are bound to be popular. Bookings are essential through the Library on 6329 8220.
