Council News - Thursday 11 June 2015

We have almost completed our series of Community Meetings to present the Draft Oberon Community Strategic Plan 2015. So far we have had limited numbers in attendance at the meetings held in Oberon, O’Connell and Black Springs.  The final meeting will be held in Burraga this evening, commencing at 7.00pm where I am sure we will have a larger turnout.

The DRAFT Oberon Community Strategic Plan 2015 is currently on Public Exhibition until Monday 22 June 2015 and is available for viewing at the following locations:

Ø  Oberon Library – corner Dart and Fleming Street

Ø  Oberon Visitor Information Centre – corner Ross Street and Edith Road, Oberon

Ø  Oberon Council Administration Centre – 137-139 Oberon Street, Oberon

Ø  Oberon Council Website

Submissions on these documents should be made in writing during the Public Exhibition period. Council will then consider all submissions prior to adopting the final Plan on 25 June 2015 at an Extraordinary Meeting commencing at 5.30pm..

Our works staff have commenced landscaping works in front of the toilets at the Netball Courts as part of the Town Improvement Program.  A small garden bed and an additional concrete footpath on the eastern side of the toilet block is planned as part of this work. I am pleased that the Council has been able to deliver such significant improvements to our sporting facilities.
