ADDITION OF FLUORIDE TO OBERON RETICULATED WATER SUPPLY

An Instrument of Approval allowing the addition of fluorine to the Oberon Reticulated Water Supply was issued under delegation by Dr Kerry Chant Chief Health Officer, NSW Ministry of Health on 26 September 2018.  The approval notice was subsequently published in the NSW Government Gazette on Friday 5 October 2018.

The approval was issued in response to a resolution of Oberon Council at the Ordinary Council Meeting held on 17 July 2018 that:

“Council directs the General Manager to write to NSW Health requesting approval to commence fluoridation of the Oberon Town water supply in accordance with Section 6 of the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Act”.

Oberon Council staff will now commence working with NSW Health – Water Division to implement the fluoridation process in line with the conditions of approval set down by Section 6 of the Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Act.
