Upcoming Landcare Events & Opportunities in the Lithgow & Oberon Region
 
Whether you live in town, have a farm or own a bush block, Landcare can help you improve your environment and connect with your community. The Lithgow Oberon Landcare Association (LOLA) can help you better understand our unique landscape, make connections with knowledgeable people and community members,  learn how to conserve and protect our land, native flora and fauna as well as farm sustainably.

Pasture sowing demonstration day. Tarana, 10.00am, Tuesday 16 April.
Learn about pasture species and their management along with tractor and seeder options at the Pasture Demonstration Trial Site, 941 Sodwalls Road, Tarana. See attached for more details. Farmers creek community planting day. Lithgow. 10.00am, Thursday 18 April.
Come and help re-establish native plant species to help improve Lithgow’s unique riparian zone habitat to once again support a variety of native flora and fauna species, Albert Street Bridge, Lithgow. Funding now available to protect big old paddock trees. Applications close Tuesday 23 April.
Funding of up to $1,000 per mature, hollow bearing tree is now available for landholders in the Lithgow Oberon region to install stock proof fencing and protect big old paddock trees. ‘Living on the Edge’ of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area information seminars. Wolgan area, Friday 3 May, and Gingkin Edith area, Friday 10 May. 
The ‘Living on the Edge’ project supports landholders to improve pest animal and weed control on their lands. Information seminars are being organised for the Wolgan area, Friday 3 May, and the Gingkin Edith area, Friday 10 May, locations yet to be confirmed. Central Tablelands ‘Smaller Smarter Farms’ survey.  Submissions close 1 June.
