Local Government is required by the NSW Disability Inclusion Act 2014 (DIA) to undertake disability inclusion action planning by 1 July 2017. All Council’s are required to complete a Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) to be delivered through the Integrated Planning and Reporting (IP&R) framework.
The Disability Inclusive Action Plan was approved by Council at the Ordinary Council meeting on Tuesday 20 June 2017.
This follows from the May Ordinary Meeting when the plan was discussed. The purpose for the Oberon DIAP is to set out the strategies and actions that Council will deliver to enable people with disability to have greater access to Council information, services and facilities.
The purpose of the public exhibition was to enable the community to provide feedback on Council’s draft DIAP. There were no submissions during the exhibition period. Therefore, Council adopted the DIAP without any changes from the draft version.
