Works Update - 25 February 2016

Works on Edith Road continue and will be completed in coming weeks. The construction of the approach to Fish River Creek is now complete. Council thanks the community for its patience. Curve widening works have now been carried out east of Fish River Creek. Heavy patching works have additionally been finalised. Resealing works are progressing with all works including line marking to be completed by the end of February.

The replacement of the water main and water meters in Strathroy Avenue will continue throughout February. Staff will endeavour to keep disruptions to a minimum.

Work has commenced on clearing vegetation, widening road formation and ensures that the table drains are operating effectively to improve the safety on Isabella Road. This work is expected to be completed in March.

A final seal on a section of Abercrombie Road (south of Murrays Lane) is scheduled for completion by the end of February.

Beaconsfield Road works for constructing the road pavement south from Sewells Creek Rd is progressing through February.

Council has conducted surveying work to look at improving the Sewells Creek Road and Mayfield Road intersection, which has been funded through The Fixing Country Road Program. It is proposed to widen the intersection and allow for an additional right turn lane into Mayfield Road.

Painting of the Cook Park toilets has been completed with tiling works, due to commence at the end of February. During this time the toilets may be unavailable for use. Council will arrange for alternative amenities to be placed at the rear of the toilet block during this period for the convenience of the Oberon Community and its visitors.
