Kanangra Boyd River Bridge - Update

Construction well underway this week on the new bridge, 9.1m in length and 5.43m in width. The establishment of the new abutments saw 24m3 of concrete requiring to be poured into the substructure today. On Monday the superstructure (bridge deck) will be lifted into place by crane and secured, followed by pouring a further 18m3 of concrete on Tuesday. Additional safety components will be fitted over the duration of the remainder of next week including bolting safety rails onto the outer edges of the new bridge deck. Work on both road approaches to the new bridge, inclusive of new signage will be completed by Council staff upon completion of the main bridge construction.
