Current Works Update - 3 March 2016

Works on Edith Road are continuing and will be completed in coming weeks. The construction of the approach to Fish River Creek has now completed in readiness for sealing. Council thanks the community for its patience. Resealing works are progressing with works including line marking to be completed by the end of March .

Work has commenced this week on clearing vegetation, widening the road formation and ensuring that the table drains are operating effectively to improve the safety on Isabella Road. This work is expected to be completed in March.

Council’s “Rural Road Reseals” program is currently underway, with staff preparing roads for bitumen reseals on Beaconsfield Road, O’Connell Plains Road and Burraga Road.

A final seal on a section of Abercrombie Road (south of Murrays Lane) has now been completed.

Beaconsfield Road works for gravel resheeting south of Sewells Creek Rd is progressing through March.

Council has conducted surveying work to look at improving the Sewells Creek Road and Mayfield Road intersection, which has been funded through The Fixing Country Roads Program. It is proposed to widen the intersection and allow for an additional right turn lane into Mayfield Road. This work will proceed through to the end of the financial year

The replacement of the water main and water meters in Strathroy Avenue will continue throughout March. Staff will endeavour to keep disruptions to a minimum.

The sealing of a section on Bailey’s Lane is expected to be carried out and completed within the coming weeks, subject to the availability of necessary aggregate.

The final seal on the section of Hazelgrove Road at “Bushrangers Rock” has been completed as well as a reseal on a section of Dart Street, from North Street to Ross Street.

Painting of the Cook Park toilets has been completed and tiling works are due to be completed by middle of March. During this time the toilets may be unavailable for use, however Council have arranged for alternative amenities to be placed at the rear of the toilet block during this period for the convenience of the Oberon Community and its visitors.
