Campbells River Road reconstruction

Work has commenced at the Arkstone end of Campbells River Road this week. Council is fully committed to the project with a tree mulching crew working in advance of a grader crew clearing the road shoulders and roadside drainage, a second grader crew ripping the existing pavement, top dressing with gravel, mixing and shaping. This work will be followed by a contract stabilisation crew carrying out chemical modification to the existing materials. A contract grader and rollers will carry out the final shaping and compaction of the finished road.  Approximately 8kms of road will be stabilized. Ripping and resheeting selected sections of the road is scheduled to follow.
