PUBLIC NOTICE - Discoloured water

Published on 12 October 2023

Council wishes to advise that in response to reports of discoloured water within the town reticulation system, partial mains flushing has been undertaken today, 12th October 2023.

As a result of this, some residents may experience discoloured water. This sometimes happens after we do maintenance or emergency work due to a sudden increase in the rate or direction of water flow through pipes and as a result, can stir up sediment, causing it to become suspended in the water. If you are affected, we suggest you turn on the outside tap closest to your water meter and run the water until it becomes clear (this can take up to 5 minutes).

This discolouration will be temporary and Council apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.
Should you have any questions, or you find your water does not clear after flushing - please contact Council on 02 6329 8100 or via email at council@oberon.nsw.gov.au
