In April 2020 Council received $3 million in funding under the Drought Stimulus Package to expand the Oberon Library and Community Centre and redevelop the precinct into a ‘state of the art’ space that aims to increase participation from community groups, the Arts, school children, parental groups, and youth through to the older generations.

The new facility will provide a range of community spaces including:

  • Flexible function space.
  • Meeting rooms
  • Exhibition spaces
  • Library space
  • Community Technology Centre
  • Foyer / display space
  • Oberon Tapestries
  • Dedicated youth space
  • Fast internet hub

Construction of the Community Hub commenced in July 2022 and is set for completion in March 2023.
