Proposal to Reduce Councillor Numbers - Submissions close 30 May 2017

In accordance with Sections 624a of the Local Government Act 1993, Oberon Council advises that it proposes to resolve to apply to the Minister for Local Government for approval to reduce its councillor numbers.

Oberon Council currently has nine (9) elected councillors. As part of Council’s continuous improvement plan it is proposed to reduce the number to seven (7) to commence from the next Local Government Elections being held on 9 September 2017.

Council hereby gives 42 days public notice of this proposed change during which time submissions may be received. Submissions are to be made in writing and addressed to Lynette Safranek, Acting General Manager, Oberon Council, PO Box 84, Oberon NSW 2787.

Submissions will close on Tuesday 30 May 2017. Council will consider a report in relation to this matter at an Extraordinary Meeting being held on Tuesday 6 June 2017, all submissions will be considered at this time.
