Oberon Council Draft Local Environmental Study (Dec 2007 - not endorsed by NSW Dept. of Planning) - Published: 12 Oct 2004 The Oberon Council is undertaking a major planning project that will guide future development in the Shire by the introduction of a new Comprehensive Local Environmental Plan by the end of 2009. The Planning Consultant has prepared a Draft Land Use Issues Paper, with Version 4 of the Draft to be received by Council shortly. Version 3 of the Issues Paper is currently available. In December 2007, Council's previous Planning Consultant prepared a Draft Local Environmental Study (LES). However, this Study is only a discussion document as it has not been endorsed by the NSW Department of Planning. The Draft LES can be downloaded below. Community consultation is an important part of this process and the views of the people who live and work in the Oberon Shire will play a very important part in formulating the new direction for the Shire.
