Oberon Lake

As at publication on Thursday, 12 November 2009, the Oberon Dam level is now less than 15% capacity.  It is currently 13.23% and falling.  This means that Level 5 Water Restrictions are in place for the Oberon local government area.

The level 5 water restrictions are:

  • Sprinklers, microsprays, fixed and handheld hoses are banned.  Watering of gardens by buckets only.
  • Car washing only permitted on grass areas with a bucket

Recycled water, bore water and water used for testing fire systems, fire fighting and related activities are excluded from restrictions.

Under the Local Government Act an on-the-spot fine of $2,200.00 may be imposed for breach of the water restriction regulations.

Level 6 restrictions will not be introduced until dam levels fall below 10%.
