The Oberon Swimming Pool season will commence on 1 October 2017 this year in line with daylight savings.
Staff will be at the Pool on 18 September between 2pm - 6pm and 19 September from 10am - 6pm to take enrolments for early bird lessons. Enrolments will also be taken for courses being held during the September School Holidays as follows:
• Pool Lifeguard 25 & 26 September 9am - 5.30pm
The Royal Life Saving Pool Lifeguard Certificate is recognised throughout Australia and in many countries around the world. The certificate is an entry-level professional qualification that can lead to an exciting career in the aquatic and recreation industry.
• Bronze Medallion 27 September
Teaches an understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the 4 components of water-rescue education - judgment, knowledge, skill and fitness. Minimum age for participants is 13 years.
• Provide First Aid 27 September
This training course will give you the skills and knowledge required to provide First Aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, in a range of situations, including in the home, workplace or within the community, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Dolphin Swim School attempts to meet the needs of our enrolments as individually as possible. To do this it is suggested that you enrol early, even if you do not wish to have lessons until later in the season.
Learn-to-Swim - Drowning prevention study by National Institute of Health has reported that learning to swim in the age 1-4 years and after greatly reduces the likelihood of drowning.
Courses will have limited numbers so make sure you drop in to enrol, don’t miss out. For further information about upcoming events please contact Oberon Swimming Pool on 6329 8251.
