Social & Community Plan

Community planning has become more and more important in local government. The increasing community demand for Council's services combined with the scarcity of available funds means that planning is crucial for allocating resources fairly and efficiently.
There is an increased need to move towards seeing community planning as a function that involves all sections of Council, as well as other public and private agencies.
Also, Council's statutory responsibilities in environment planning require it to take account of the social effects of planning. So social, economic and physical planning need to work together.
