About the Council
Oberon Council was first formed at a public meeting in March 1906. More and more services have been provided gradually over the years and now include recreation and cultural services, visitor information services, building, planning, development and environmental services, as well as the standard water, roads and waste services. The Oberon Council Local Government Area covers approximately 3,659.67 square kilometres.
Located in the main street of town, Oberon Council is open 5 days a week from 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays.
Council's Visitor Information Centre operates 7 days a week from 10.00am to 4.00pm at 48 Ross Street, Oberon. Telephone (02) 6329 8210, fax (02) 6329 8213, email tourism@oberon.nsw.gov.au
The Council is also responsible for the self care units, the Community Technology Centre, the Public Library, the Oberon Pool Complex, and the Community Centre.
