Parks & Sports Grounds
There are a number of parks and sports grounds in the Oberon area. Facilities range from barbeques and shelter to fully equipped sporting grounds. The facilities at the various parks and gardens in the area are listed below. The Common - Published: 12 Oct 2004The Common Park is ideally situated in a central location between The National Parks & Wildlife Office and The Oberon Visitor Information Centre on the corner of Ross Street and Edith Road. The park features a rotunda overlooking a water feature, which is home to a large number of bird species including water fowl. There are two free BBQ facilities, with tables and shelter as well as a children's playground and walking and cycling trails. The Common is an ideal location for family activities.  more ..
Apex Park - Published: 02 Mar 2005 Apex Park is located on the corner of Carrington Avenue and Rupert Street. This facility features a central water fountain surrounded by large grass areas for activities as well as BBQ facilities, shelters and toilets. The gardens contains a large display of daffodil's in spring incorporated into beautiful flower gardens. more .. Oberon Dam - Published: 25 Oct 2004 Facilities include toilets with lights, children's playground, gas and wood BBQs, shelter, water, picnic tables, grass areas, shade and bins. more .. Cunynghame Oval - Published: 12 Oct 2004 Facilities include cricket pitch, children's playground, water fountain, shelter and picnic table. more .. Netball & Hockey Facilities - Published: 12 May 2005 Facilities include three netball courts and toilets as well as a grass hockey field. Recreation Ground - Published: 15 Feb 2005 The Recreation Ground is a multi-purpose sporting ground, located next to the Oberon Swimming Pool on Cunynghame Street. The ground facilities include a canteen with stove, pie warmer, urn and storage cupboards, lights, toilets, picnic tables, children's playground, skate park and cricket nets. more .. Small Playgrounds - Published: 13 Nov 2007 There are small playgrounds located at Buckley Crescent, Bligh Street, Armstrong Place, corner of Crete and Carrington Avenue and at Glyndwr Avenue through to Oberon Street. |
