Companion Animals Service

The Council's Development Department provides Council regulatory services under the Companion Animals Act and the Impounding Act.
The service is provided by Council's Animal Control Officers who are part-time officers.
The Animal Control contact number is (02) 6329 8153 and all enquiries should be directed to this number. This service does not deal with matters of an urgent public safety nature - all such matters should be referred to the 000 number.
The Animal Control Service is responsible for:
- The Dog and Cat Pound
- Stock Control Service
- A Dog Boarding Kennel
- An animal complaint service - responding to all enquiries within 24 hours
- Conducting regular town patrols
