Community Technology CentreLast modified: October 14, 2008 - 10:29 AM
The CTC is open from 10.00am to 4.00pm 7 days a week, and at other times by arrangement. The Centre provides for the public internet access and computer access with Microsoft Office software as well as various other software. The centre is clean, comfortable and welcoming, with tea making facilities, and staff and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and circles. We have disabled access to all rooms, plus toilet facilities for the disabled. The CTC is part of the Oberon Information Centre. The resources of the Oberon Information Centre are as follows:
CTC@Oberon runs a large range of learning programs, including non-accredited courses (Computers for Beginners, Using a Still Digital Camera and digital editing software, eBay, Internet Basics, Linux, Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, File Management and Security). We can arrange accredited courses through an accredited trainer, self-paced training, and one-on-one mentoring by volunteers and staff. We also conduct a full week of activities during Seniors Week. CTC@Oberon is managed by a local management committee, in conjunction with Oberon Council, and runs Genealogy Club (meets every Monday afternoon), PC Club for Beginners (meets every Wednesday afternoon), and PC Forum (meets every Thursday afternoon). The Centre is used by the local community for various meetings, and local business which run courses for their staff.
