Citizen Awards

Every year Oberon Council seeks nominations of residents of the Council area to receive awards in the following six (6) categories:
- Citizen of the Year Award, for persons aged over twenty-five (25) years;
- Young Citizenship Award, for persons up to twenty-five (25) years;
- Sportsperson of the Year Award;
- Junior Sportsperson/Sports Team of the Year Award;
- Local Legend; and
- Community Event of the Year Award.
The selection in each category is made on the basis of service to the community or excellence in sport. The Council reserves the right to refrain from making any award if it considers such action appropriate.
The awards will be presented on Australia Day 2010.
Nominations for the 2010 Australia Day awards must be lodged on a form obtained from the Council's offices or downloaded below and will be received until 4.00pm on Friday, 27 November 2009.
Any person living in the Council area, or any organisation in the area, can nominate one (1) recipient in each of the categories.
